CharterSAFE is pleased to offer a series of on demand eLearning courses covering multiple HR competencies. These courses have been designed to provide information on compliance and best practices for the full life cycle of an employee working in a charter school environment. We will be releasing a series of ten “core” HR courses and will also be releasing “elective” courses to allow you to customize your learning experience. Upon completion of the ten core courses and two elective courses, if completed within 2 years, you will receive a certificate of completion to celebrate your achievement. We are confident that you will find these courses helpful in developing your HR knowledge at your convenience without having to leave your desk.
HR 100 Core Courses
HR 101 - Recruit, Hire & Onboard Charter School Employees
This course will provide information on practices unique to California charter schools as you recruit, hire and onboard top talent. Duration: 55 minutes
HR 102 - Wage & Hour Compliance: Part 1
This course will discuss California wage and hour laws as they relate to your charter school employees. Duration: 55 minutes
HR 103 - Wage & Hour Compliance: Part 2
This course will continue the discussion of California wage and hour laws as they relate to your charter school employees. Duration: 80 minutes

HR 203 – Unemployment Insurance

HR 209 – How to Prevent Employee Lawsuits (Fall 2019 CharterSAFE Workshop Presentation)

HR 305 – Civility in the Workplace - Supervisor
Contains 1 Component(s)This course will establish a foundation to support civility in the workplace. We will coach supervisors on how to communicate this expectation to employees, and how to hold employees accountable if they choose to engage in uncivil behavior or actions in the workplace. This training can be done onsite/in-person or virtually.
HR 306 – Civility in the Workplace – Employee
Contains 1 Component(s)This course communicates to your staff your school’s expectation of civility in the workplace. Depending on your needs, this course is available to school staff by department, location, etc., depending on your unique circumstances. This training can be done onsite/in-person or virtually.
HR 307 – Leaves of Absence Training for Supervisors
Contains 1 Component(s)This course provides supervisors with an overview of federal and California leaves of absence, and the use of intermittent leaves. This training can be done onsite/in-person or virtually.
HR 308 – New Supervisor Training
Contains 1 Component(s)This course will assist newly promoted supervisors in developing skills in leadership, creating a civil workplace, managing meal and rest breaks for non-exempt staff, and handling the hiring to separation process. This training can be done onsite/in-person or virtually.
HR 309 – Customized Training
Contains 1 Component(s)CharterSAFE offers customized training to meet the unique needs of your school. This training can be done onsite/in-person or virtually. Please reach to our Human Resources Department for further details. Examples of personalized training include: • Training school staff on the rollout of new Employee Handbook policies or procedures • Conducting an onsite Human Resources audit • Non-exempt (hourly) employee training on meal/rest breaks and proper timekeeping practices • Providing orientation and training to newly assigned Human Resources school staff to help them understand their HR roles and responsibilities
